Questions about the move
What happens to your rankings, forms, animations and content, what we need from you, and how launch day works.
01Search and links
What Google sees
The move is set up so nothing Google relies on today is left behind. Every page keeps its title, description, social card and structured data, the sitemap is carried over, and every old URL either stays the same or gets a permanent redirect.
Nobody can promise rankings: Google decides those. Faster pages help visitors, and they are one of the signals Google looks at.
Most URLs stay exactly as they are. Where Webflow forced a path on you, such as a collection prefix, you choose whether to keep it or tidy it.
Every URL that changes gets a 301 (permanent) redirect to its new address. The full list lives in a file in your repository, so you can check every line.
02Forms, motion and content
What moves with the site
Each form is rebuilt with the same fields and sends to your inbox or the tools you already use. We test every form on the preview and again on the live domain at launch.
Yes. They are rebuilt in CSS, with small scripts only where CSS can’t do it, instead of Webflow’s interaction scripts. Visitors whose device asks for less motion get a calmer version.
Anything unusually complex shows up in the audit and is agreed in the scope before we start.
On Growth and Scale, your CMS collections become content files in your repository, and your team edits them in a visual editor in the browser. No Webflow seat and no code: when someone saves, the site rebuilds and the change goes live.
Starter sites have no CMS, so page changes are code changes. Any web developer can make them, or ask us for a quote.
03Hosting and Astro
Where the site lives
On a static host, in an account in your name, for example Cloudflare Pages, Netlify or Vercel. You pay the host directly; we don’t resell hosting.
Many marketing sites fit a host’s free or entry plan. Your domain stays with your current registrar.
Astro builds your site into plain HTML and CSS and only adds JavaScript where a page needs it, which keeps pages light and fast.
It is open source and widely used, so any web developer can pick up your site later. You are not tied to us or to a platform.
04The week and after
Launch day and after
Access to your Webflow project, so we can read every page, collection and setting. Someone who can make one DNS change on launch day, or access to the place your domain is managed. And time to review the preview before launch.
We point your domain at the new host with a DNS change. Your Webflow site keeps serving visitors while the change spreads, so there is no gap. Then we check the certificate, the redirects and every form on the live domain, and hand over the repository and hosting.
Once you are happy, you can cancel your Webflow site plan.
Tell us. If something we built doesn’t work as agreed, we fix it.
New pages, redesigns and ongoing edits are separate work. Because the code and hosting are yours, any developer can work on the site too.
